# Games > Cosmere > Stormlight > Overview ## What is What **Cosmere** is both the universe and the game system. - The universe was created by [Brandon Sanderson](https://brandonsanderson.com/)'s many novels and short stories. - The game system was created by [Brotherwise Games](https://www.brotherwisegames.com/) in 2024 after a very successful [Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brotherwise/the-stormlight-archive-rpg) campaign. ###### Planets - **Roshar** is both a planet and the sole continent of that planet. **Investiture** (magic) on this planet takes the form of **Stormlight**, which is energy that is present in the intense hurricane-like **highstorms** that sweep the continent every week or so, and which is captured in gems to be consumed later. - **Scadrial** is a planet. ###### Settings - The **Stormlight** setting takes place on Roshar, during and informed by *The Stormlight Archive* series. - The **Mistborn** setting takes place on Scadrial, during and informed by the *Mistborn* series. ## Cosmere A universe containing many different book series and one-shot stories.
